't have the exact location. bonnie schneider is here in the "weather center" to give us an idea just where it might be. >> well, we had a good strong indication it would end up somewhere over the ocean. here's a look at the craft right now. you can see what it looked like. likely when it did plunge to earth it didn't look like this. usually with these orbital objects they tend to disintegrate a lot. they come in at a fast speed. we expect there are pieces of debris scattered most likely in the ocean. it will take a while for them to recover all these pieces. these objects move pretty quickly. you can see some pictures of what it looked like. looks like we'll get more information in terms of where the debris landed in the north pacific but that's the best indication we have that it happen somewhere off the west coast in the pacific ocean. >> difficult to tell, the earth made up a majority of ocean, of water. so much of that debris may have dissipated or crashed into the ocean. may never be recovered. >> it may take a long time for it to be recovered. there may be pieces we'll find for decad

bonnie schneider. bonnie, what are you seeing? >> well, candy, right now we're seeing the beginning for a lot of rain for the southeastern parrishes of louisiana and southern mississippi. i'll show you what's happening on the radar and you see the thunderstorms rolling on in. i wish i could say it will last through tonight and your weekend will be great, but it's not. this area of disturbed weather continues to bring the rain in and strong winds as well, and it's likely to develop into a tropical system and maybe in the next 30 minutes, we're getting reports that possibly for the 8:00 advisory, the national hurricane center may upgrade it from an area of disturbed weather possibly to a tropical storm. the next name on the list is lee, incidentally. here it is on our satellite perspective, notice the bright reds and oranges and purples, that indicates the higher cloud tops which indicates thunderstorms. a lot of it is hitting the alabama and mississippi coast right now. wind shear breaking it up, but you have to realize the water temperature throughout much of this region is about 88

in this neighborhood, several homes are now condemned because of collapsed retaining walls here bonnie these town homes. we saw homes and businesses damaged as the water continues to make its way up and rise into many of those homes. in a mobile home park, we know several residents are now displaced now that their homes have also been condemned. several of them have been living in shelters since that happened. many of them with no place to go. the threat of mother nature leaving another mess certainly has a lot of people worried. >> i don't know what is going to happen. >> we're going to be scared now that it floods again because if it does that, it might get all the way up here. >> in some of those sections that suffered damage, we had some businesses with up to $150,000. some of the residents in the mobile home park said it could be years to rebuild in that area. meanwhile, a lot of these residents have been moved out of these homes because they are not safe for them to be in and a lot of people in the other surrounding parts of the community are watching

. this was launched 20 years ago. let's talk about this now. meteorologist bonnie schneider is in the cnn severe weather to talk about satellite falling to earth. we've had sprays debris before. this is different because of its size? >> because of the size. that's the concern. you have to realize that satellites and space debris falls every single day every single week. this is the mid point prediction point altitude of 10 kilometers where it's estimated to have fallen all they we may never know where the falling point occurred because it could have occurred anywhere. naturally the most likely place will be somewhere over water since the earth is covered by 70% of water so that's likely what happened over the north pacific. the prediction point was at an altitude of 10 kilometers. that's why we expect this to be a smaller piece and scattered more about. no reports of visuals that you can see confirmed of re-entry. 26 pieces reached the ground of various size. as you mention on average one satellite re-entered the area so small it burns up before reaching the earth. once a week a larger satellite

. and so i don't think any one case can do it. but as bonnie said earlier, this generation has never really had that strong, visceral reaction when it comes to these types of cases. but i do think that there's a lot more awareness and people are making some serious -- you know, raising some serious concerns. at one point, i tweeted earlier, anderson, that's this. if you care about this case, if you care about justice why do we, as americans, try to get out of jury duty, because we say, oh, no, i don't want to have do that but we question a jury's decision. this should tell any american, if you care about justice, don't try to run out on jury duty. you need to say, hey, i'm following serve because i might be the difference maker. a dozen or some people deciding whether a person is innocent or guilty or should be put to death. >> bj, at what point will we know -- how soon after the execution does word come out? >> pretty -- right afterwards. i mean, someone from the department of corrections will come out and making the announcement. we will know shortly after ter occurs. >> david mattingly,
